I'm perhaps someone who may not fit in any common stereotypes or perception. I'm like a book that is most often judged by its cover. I've got tattoos that the society may perceive me as someone hostile; maybe a gangster. But in reality, I'm just a friendly, cultured, human; a pervasive thinker and this is my nature (what a paradox of a predicament I must say). I strive for answers hoping that the universe(s) will one day come unfold as I long to know the secrets of the universe(s) of infinite light years old. Interestingly, my unknown history still remains a mystery. Normally I just go with the flow, making friends from all walks of life from all over the world; just can't help it though. I easily tend to get obsessed with anything that is beautiful and captivating like nature, people, poetry, music and art besides having deep passion for linguistics, psychology, parapsychology, chess, soccer and body-building. I learn almost anything and everything as long as it is worthy and fascinating. I may appear to be an extravert for the high need for affiliation. But in truth, I'm pretty much an introvert; in my own very ways. My number one favorite hang-out is the Starbucks. Quality is more essential than quantity and this is my policy. A lifestyle can be in simplicity but let it be full of life, color and refinement and this is my simple philosophy. I'm a man of word with a good sense of humor; it is just my way of demeanor. Basically, I'm just a guy who yearns for love and peace from this little portion of the universe. * You can know me better through my journals (especially my older entries) and my area of interest or expertise includes most of the groups that I've joined. Curious to know which race or ethnicity I really belong to? It's a little complicated:)

Food For Thought... : May 27, 2008

- We are also aware of the gift of having a mind. How do we all perceive mind? What's the definition of mind? There are many ways or aspects to interpret and define mind; scientifically, mind is believed to be consciousness considered as residing in the human's brain, manifested especially in thought, perception, feeling, will, memory, or imagination (Universal Dictionary). Philosophically, mind can also be seen as an intellect or consciousness held to pervade reality or the non-material aspects of being; the mind over matter theory (Universal Dictionary).

- In my humble opinion, mind is an abstract issue that differs from our brains as it is strongly manifested through our soul rather than our brains. Do you realize that our soul has a mind beforehand? In addition, our mind has hidden memories; something very subconscious. For instance, the “Déjà Vu” phenomenon can possibly be explained due to this understanding of our mind. Brains are rather seen as the most important organ that is responsible for the interpretation of sensory impulses, the co-ordination and control of bodily activities and functions. Find out whether or not can souls (without the body/brains) be able to imagine, ect. Hope this site somehow help relate: http://books.google.com.my/books?id=0Rw4RwN9Q1kC&pg=PA40&lpg=PA40&dq=do+souls+possess+a+mind&source=web&ots=ovrygiBrd4&sig=JQNIsmasCx1Q_Cr-fKO3rzsUBZQ&hl=en#PPA41,M1

- Our heart and mind are two different dimensions all together although they often go hand by hand. Let us converse about emotions. Emotions are considered as the by-product of our heart (feelings). What are the factors that manifest emotions? They are memory (memories either sweet or sad can affect our mental state of being which are most often expressed in emotions) and learning (the social learning theory explains on how we first learn to express emotions based on our parents'  facial expressions and behavior) supported by our senses or sensory perception. For example, the feeling of pain can be sensed through our pain receptors (physiological) or through our bitter experiences (psychological).

- What is my definition of emotions? Emotions are reactions of verbal and non-verbal manifestation regarding an event, state or condition that is influenced by certain attached meanings to an individual. For an example, an individual gets angry with his friend for making fun of a name that happens to be the same as his ex-lover's. This is a state or condition whereby the particular name carries certain personal meaning to that individual who got annoyed by his friend's behavior. Hence, an individual reacts or expresses emotions based on how he or she perceives and interprets the event or word. This is why memory and learning is fundamental to how an individual expresses his/her woes and joy (emotions).

- What about the gift to imagine and to dream? What are the interpretations or definitions? What about the wonderful or sensational experience of what we call, "love" that happens between a man and a woman?

1. Just for today, I will be happy. This assumes that what Abraham Lincoln said is true, that "Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be." Happiness is from within -- it is not a matter of externals. 2. Just for today, I will try to strengthen my mind. I will study, I will learn something useful, I will not be a mental loafer all day. I will read something that requires effort, thought and concentration. 3. Just for today, I will be unafraid, especially I will not be afraid to be happy, to enjoy what is beautiful, to love and to believe that those I love, love me.
